Best Robot Vacuum For Pet Hair and Debris

A robotic vacuum that can collect pet hair and debris from all types of floors is essential when you have pets. Look for features like the ability to avoid obstacles in a reactive manner and app control.

Cats and dogs shed fur that splatters across hard floors or embeds into carpeting. This is difficult for a robot to grasp.

1. Neato D9

The Neato D9 is one of the most modern robot cleaners that are available. It has an onboard camera that maps out the space and then vacuums up and down in a logical way until it has thoroughly cleaned your floor. It is easy to clean hard to reach areas like underneath furniture or above stairs. It is also ideal for cleaning pet hair and dust.

best robot vacuum and mop for dog hair Robot Vacuum Mops  is a powerful vacuum cleaner which can clean up an area of 1,600 square feet in a single charge. This makes it ideal for homes with medium-sized spaces. It has a premium matte black finish that looks great in any home. The D9 isn't as powerful as the other robotic vacuums we tested in our tests, but it's still able to remove lots of dirt and other debris. Its helix multi-surface brush is 70% bigger than the ones found on many round robotic vacuums, making it much more effective at cleaning up the crumbs and other particles.

SmartLiDAR navigation is another feature that differentiates D9 apart from other robot cleaners. It uses the same technology as self-driving vehicles to map and navigate through your home. The D9 can clean your home more efficiently than robots with cameras, because it can see more of your home and avoid obstacles when lighting is dim.

If you don't want the D9 to take certain areas of your home off the cleaning list, you can draw virtual boundaries on a map using the app. The D9 will either avoid these zones or vacuum more often. It can also spot pet poop on floors and clean them.

The D9 can clean your grout. This is especially beneficial if your home has a vinyl or tiled flooring. Although it's not as efficient as other robot vacuums at cleaning pet hair from carpeted floors but it does well.

The D9 was able to remain in one place for more than three hours which was superior to any robot vacuum I have tried. However, it did have to return to the charging base once its battery was at 15 percent.

2. Eufy RoboVac 11S

The Eufy RoboVac11S robot vacuum is a great option when you're on a tight budget and want to clean your hard floor. It's also one of the most affordable robot vacuums you can find today, even cheaper than older Eufy models or other machines from lesser-known brands. The 11S is small, attractive, easy-to-use, and comes with a large dust compartment.

It has the same basic form factor similar to the eufy 30C we looked at last year, but it's tinier and has better suction power (2 kPa against 1.7). Unlike the more expensive Roomba models, the 11S doesn't have a built-in robot mop, or advanced navigation capabilities. Instead, it utilizes a remote control and a smartphone app to let you control it manually and set a daily cleaning schedule.

You can set the 11S to clean your entire home or just a few rooms. It also comes with an option for spot cleaning that allows you to select one specific zone for two minutes of intense vacuuming. Edge cleaning is a useful feature that lets you concentrate on the edges of your room.

The 11S is simple to maintain. It comes with a large dirt bin which doesn't require being regularly emptied and its battery life is exceptional. The 11S tends to fall from its charging dock when it is full. You'll need to tie the cables around the dock using zip tie. The lack of a 'dust box full' indicator means you'll have to check the dust container regularly, but it doesn't take long.

Comparatively to the eufy 30-C In comparison to the eufy 30C, the 11S is better-built, incurs fewer recurring costs and has a larger dirt compartment, and is able to clear more debris from everything from bare floors to carpets with low pile. It's also easier to maintain and has a superior performance overall, particularly on carpets. Its BoostIQ feature automatically changes between Standard power and Max power settings depending on the surface you are cleaning. Anti-collision sensors stop the 11S from bumping into furniture, and it can automatically return to its base when the battery is depleted. In our tests, it took approximately an hour to fully charge and it has a very long time of operation.

3. IRobot Roomba J7+ Roomba

iRobot's j7 series is the company's most intelligent robot vacuum and mop combo. It uses PrecisionVision navigation to identify obstacles and navigate around them, avoiding blind spots where other robotic vacuums may become stuck. It also gathers information about your home, and uses this information to improve its cleaning performance over time. It can be controlled using the iRobot app, and also integrates with Alexa and Google Assistant, making it easy to use with voice commands.

We put the j7+ Combo to work on our obstacle course and found it to be among the most reliable robots to clean both floors that are unfinished and carpets with low pile. Its maneuverability and cleaning pattern are well-organized, and it returns to its docking station when it is done. Its hazards detection feature is effective at avoiding objects like cords however it could be caught in rug tassels and be unable to climb up on carpets with high piles.

The iRobot j7+ features a self emptying dust bin, which dumps its contents into the charging dock once it's full. This eliminates the requirement for manual maintenance. The j7+ Combo comes with a broad range of mopping capabilities, including the ability to clean both hard and softer surfaces. The dual rubber brush bars are pliable and are able to handle the majority of messy messes. They also help to avoid getting tangled in hair, whether it's animal or human.

The iRobot J7+ is a quiet machine, registering no more than 64db on our decibel meter while it cleans. The j7+ cleans quietly, with a decibel level that is not more than 64 decibels. This is comparable to the noise level of an ordinary conversation, and significantly lower than the noise we've heard from other robots.

The j7+ may not be the most efficient robot for bare floors and low-pile fabrics However, it's a solid option for most homes. Its ability to keep pets away from waste and other common obstacles makes it an excellent choice for people with pets, or dogs and its clever navigation capabilities make it easy to install and use.

4. Deebot X2 Omni

Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni is a complete robot mop and vacuum that is sleek, low-profile and powerful cleaning power. It also comes with intelligent navigation. It's the first robot vacuum and mop that incorporates dual-laser LiDAR navigation completely enclosed into the body of the device, allowing for faster mapping, improved response, and more precise cleaning. The X2 features AIVI 3D 2.0 as well as TrueMapping 3.0 and advanced dynamic obstacle avoidance. This is a complete solution for cleaning your home across all floors. The X2 has an AI that can recognize and identifies your household pets. This allows it to adapt its cleaning routine to the needs of your household.

The X2 can reach up close to walls and corners due to its unique square design and edge detection sensors. It can clean both tiles and hardwood floors simultaneously. However, unlike other robots that automatically wash their rotating pads with hot water, the X2's spinning pad is soaked in 131 degree F water. It is then able to dry the pads between uses, prolonging the life of the pads.

The X2 is operated by a free mobile application that allows users to schedule and plan cleaning sessions. The app is intuitive and easy to use however, it isn't equipped with the advanced features that are found in other robots. For instance, although the X2 is intelligent enough to clean in a gridded pattern, our tests revealed that it typically cleaned in more random patterns, and occasionally did not pick up a heap of coarse dirt or dust that was visible.

The X2 is incredibly easy to maintain. It will return to its docking station to wash and dry its mop pad and empty the dust bin. It can also identify its charging station, and return to it to recharge. This allows you to keep your house filled with fresh cleaning power over the course of weeks. Its only real disadvantage is the size of its battery which can be a challenge to locate a suitable spot for when it's charging.
